L'approche révolutionnnaire d'Eisenstein a influencé le cinéma commercial occidental: des créateurs de formes comme Hitchcock, De Palma, Coppola et Godard l'ont imitée, et le cinéaste populiste américain Frank Capra l'a reprise et transformée.

Abstract

This article deais with the influence of Eisenstein's revolutionary approach to cinema on western commercial films. It is dividedin two parts: 1) the imita tion of Eisenstein by such creators of forms as Hitchcock, De Palma,Coppola or Godard; 2) the transformation or more precisely the take over of the Eisenstenian subversive editing by the populistAmerican filmmaker, Frank Capra.
