Abstract
This paper studies the relationship between family involvement and divestment decisions in French listed companies. Based on a sample of 338 divestments in the French market, the results show that family firms are less involved in these transactions than non-family firms. These results are justified by the influence of family involvement on divestment decisions. To measure this involvement and its influence, this research is based on power and experience expressed through the F-PEC scale. Our results show that family power and experience in the company influence differently divestment decisions.
