Dans la banquise qui bleuit,
Dans les rais glacés du soleil,
Dans le tintement de clochette
Des blocs de glaces sur la mer –
Ecoute la vie…
Sur le mont escarpé au loin,
Dans le vent et dans la toundra,
Dans les cris perçants des oiseaux,
Dans la mélopée d’une femme –
Ecoute la vie…
Dans ton vol au coeur des étoiles
En chemin vers l’astre polaire
En ces lieux où vivent les morts,
Dans la lumière qui miroite,
Reste à l’écoute de la vie !

In a woman’s chant –

Towards the North Star –
Where the dead live,
