Biographical note
Tom Artiss is a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of Cambridge studying contemporary social dynamics and Inuitized Western music in Nain, Nunatsiavut (Labrador). He brings a background in music performance (University of Toronto) and social theory (Memorial University) to research interests in the musical mediation of sociality and ethnicity, Inuit identity politics, aboriginal broadcasting, and sensory ethnographic methods. Tom now lives in London but is originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland.
